Fig. 5 Process
How a project runs
Every project moves through five moments. We named them after the contacts of a solar eclipse, partly because of our logo and partly because it is a useful reminder: the middle is where the work happens, and it should not be a surprise when it ends.
-
C1 First contact
Intro call
Thirty minutes on the problem, the constraints and whether we are the right fit. Free, and no preparation needed.
-
C2 Second contact
Proposal
A written proposal with scope, deliverables, milestones, timeline and the full price. Nothing starts until you approve it.
-
Max Totality
Build in weekly cycles
The work happens in one-week cycles, each ending with a demo. You see progress every Friday and can change priorities before they get expensive.
-
C3 Third contact
Launch
We ship to real users, watch the first days of usage closely and fix what matters before anything else.

C4 Fourth contact
Handover
Code, accounts, documentation and decisions are handed over in your name. You can keep working with us, or not. Nothing is locked in.
Commitments What you can hold us to
Six rules we work by
These are written into our proposals, not just this page.
- 01
Written before paid
Scope, deliverables, timeline and price are agreed in writing before you pay anything. If the scope changes, the change is written down and priced before work on it starts.
- 02
A demo every week
Progress you can click through, not a status report. If something is going sideways, you see it on Friday, not at the end of the month.
- 03
Yours from day one
Repositories, cloud accounts, domains and tools are set up in your name. Ownership of the work passes to you in full once it is paid for.
- 04
Decisions in writing
Every significant decision is recorded with the reasoning behind it, so the people who join after us know why things are the way they are.
- 05
Honest about AI
If a spreadsheet, a rule or a simple script solves the problem, we say so. Models go where they do work that people should not have to do.
- 06
Easy to leave
Handover documentation is part of every project. You can keep working with us, or with anyone else, without starting again.
